Corinthia Hotels International Targets Indian Market |
|
In line with its international marketing strategy, Corinthia Hotels International (CHI) has announced the setting up of a new regional sales office in New Delhi, India. |
This will be based at Mango IT Solutions (P) Ltd of New Delhi, under the guidance of Ms Kavita Bhardwaj, who has been appointed regional sales director for CHI in India.
Mango IT solutions provides comprehensive IT support and web creation and development services to the travel and hotel industry via its IT & call centre and It will shortly be launching an Indian-centric site for CHI : www.corinthiahotels.in . This site will offer an on line booking facility and live text chat with an operator. The company builds on the success of its sister company 'City Vacations' of London, England, which is owned by Ms Bhardwaj's father Mr Raj Kumar. Mr Kumar has been involved in the travel industry for the last 35 years and was instrumental in filling a niche in the market for city breaks through the setting up of 'City Vacations'.
Commenting on the new sales office CHI's group director of sales and marketing Geoff Andrew said 'This collaboration will undoubtedly strengthen our international presence by attracting business from this previously untapped vast market, while also building on the existing good relationship that we have enjoyed for many years with City Vacations in the UK.
Ms Bhardwaj, has been working with her father at City Vacations since 1997 and has been involved in all aspects of the tour operation process from hotel & airline contracting to the actual reservations process. 'I am thrilled that we have been chosen to represent CHI in my home country, and I am convinced that CHI will benefit from an increased presence in all segments of the Indian travel industry, most importantly the expanding MICE segment. With its MICE dedicated Events@Corinthia portfolio of upscale hotels in destinations such as Antwerp, Prague, (2 hotels), Budapest (2 hotels), Malta, Lisbon, Tripoli, Tunisia and St Petersburg, the prospects for improved MICE business from India to CHI destinations is a challenge I relish.' Said Ms Bhardwaj.
