Delta Hotels announces partnership with Cornell University |
|
Delta Hotels is pleased to announce that it is partnering with eCornell, the on-line education arm of Cornell University, the esteemed Ivy League institution, to offer quality on-line education to its leaders. |
'Our culture at Delta Hotels is one of continuous learning, and we are committed to the ongoing career growth of our people,' says Bill Pallett, the company's senior vice-president of people and quality. 'Adding Cornell's comprehensive on-line courses to Delta's current mix of learning and development tools underscores our commitment to offering the best opportunities to our people.'
Developed in collaboration with faculty from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, the Cornell School of Hotel Administration - the number one-ranked school of hospitality management in the world - and the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations, eCornell's courses and certificates focus on the areas of strategy, hospitality, leadership and management development, human resources, food services and financial management.
'eCornell is delighted to partner with Delta Hotels on this initiative. Our on-line, instructor-led courses provide exceptional opportunities for Delta Hotels' leaders to develop essential management and leadership capabilities in a highly effective and engaging course environment,' says Chris Proulx, eCornell's president.
'Blending different approaches like self-paced online learning with classroom or face-to-face training is our preferred solution to optimizing learning here at Delta,' says Jose Bansil, the company's director of learning and development. 'Not only does this blended approach allow us to address the issues of time and geography, it also helps us ensure a return on investment.'
Recognized as one of Canada's best employers, Delta Hotels offers numerous tailored courses and programs, some of which are the result of rich partnerships with institutions as varied as the Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council and Toronto's Ryerson University, which assisted in establishing FastTrackers, the brand's development program for senior management.
