Open World launches 527 individual hotel web sites for Midwestern Franchisees of Choice Hotels International |

Open World and a group of Midwestern franchisees of Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH) have worked in partnership to establish a stronger Internet presence promoting individuality and incremental traffic to 527 hotels spread across five Midwest states including Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Missouri. |
Participating hotels comprise the Midwestern region (Region Eight) of Choice Hotels’ International Operators Council (IOC), the franchisee association representing owners of Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion and MainStay Suites brand hotels. Owners of Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn brand hotels, also franchised by Choice, are participating in the Open World program as well.
Open World’s RevShare Marketing Program incorporates Choice Hotels’ brand values in the design, while allowing the individual hotels to provide local market-specific content. The RevShare web site allows the hotels to feature their local promotions and packages, highlight local events and target destination keyword searches. At the same time, Open World incorporates global branding guidelines that are complementary to the corporate web site.
“In the competitive Midwestern marketplace, it is critical that each of our hotels ‘think globally and act locally,’” said Biresh Thakkar, Chairman of the IOC’s Region Eight. “Open World’s RevShare Marketing Program is the optimal local solution to supplement Choice Hotels’ global e-commerce efforts.”
Choice Region Eight’s RevShare web sites will also be part of the Open World Travel Network, which is the largest complementary direct-connect channel for hotel brands. Open World Travel Network currently distributes for over 30 brands with 25,000 chain and small independent hotels worldwide. Open World Travel Network has successfully created a series of brand-friendly web sites, which allows the hotels to regain control of their brand assets and protect their rate integrity. The success of the Travel Network has proven to minimize switch or distribution costs and gain better RevPar for the participating hotels.
