Bought by Richard Branson in 1998, during one of his famous ballooning expeditions, the resort is currently being refurbished and is due to open January 2005.
At just over three and a half hours from the UK, Morocco, coupled with its balmy weather and exotic culture, has long been regarded as one of the world's hippest places and Kasbah Tamadot is set to become one of the country's most sumptuous hideaways.
Each of the 18 rooms, including four suites, has been individually decorated to reflect the exquisite architecture of the building. Formally the home of Luciano Tempo, the renowned antiques dealer and interior designer, Kasbah will feature beautiful antiques from all over the world. Facilities will include indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, spa, a Turkish Hammam, beauty salon and gym. The restaurant will include both local specialties and international cuisine and the cellar will be well stocked with fabulous wines and champagnes.
Kasbah Tamadot provides spectacular views over the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and is located on the outskirts of Asni just a short 40-minute drive from Marrakech. This makes it perfectly placed for taking in both the buzz of Marrakech and the quiet beauty of the area surrounding the Kasbah. Guests will be able to plan a wide range of trips, from visits to the souk or skiing in the Oukaimeden to mountain treks and scenic flights over the Sahara. There are few places in the world that offer such a wide variety of experiences.
Prices will lead in at £200 per room per night and will include breakfast and taxes. The Kasbah will also be available for exclusive use.
