  • Hotel News Resource The De Vere Cavendish hotel in London has created a new concept for its regular travellers who enjoy a bit of bedtime reading and want those homely welcome touches when they arrive in the city.

By working in a unique partnership with Waterstones Piccadilly; Europe’s largest bookstore; the new ‘Book at Bedtime’ service enables The Cavendish to hand deliver the book of choice to the guest’s room.

To request a book, guests call Concierge and a copy will be delivered to the room within minutes. If they are stuck for choice, there is a Recommended Reading List in the room to refer to. If the guest is currently reading a book and have left it at home, then a fresh copy can be purchased and delivered in the same way.

VIP and frequent corporate guests will be treated to the occasional surprise book where the hotel will use its discretion to identify their favourite authors and leave one of their titles in the rooms ready for when they arrive.

“The hotel’s luxury rooms are designed to create a home from home and induce deep and restful sleep for business travellers always on the move and we believe that reading in bed complements this which is why the personal service works well,” Commented Andrew Coney, General Manager at the De Vere Cavendish hotel.
