Accor was named ‘Best Global Hotel Chain’ by Travel Trade Gazette Asia (TTG Asia) in its 2004 reader’s poll, the first time the group has received this prestigious award.
The award reflects Accor’s determined effort to expand its fast growing hotel network in Asia, and the group considers a strong relationship with the travel trade fundamental to its future growth around the region.
Accor Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing – Asia Pacific Ray Stone said Accor Asia Pacific is delighted to receive the 2004 TTG Travel Award for Best Global Hotel Chain.
“It is one of the great ironies of today’s travel environment - that in a period of increased electronic communication - there has never been greater need for more meaningful, long term travel trade partnerships.
“We intend to increase our communication activities with the travel trade in Asia through the trade media, through increase sales activity and expansion of our World of Accor events into eight Asian cities in 2005.”
Next year World of Accor will visit Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta.

Accor is the largest and fastest growing hotel group in the Asia Pacific region, with 217 hotels and 41,082 rooms in 15 countries. The company’s primary corporate office for Asia Pacific is in Sydney, with the regional office for Asia located in Bangkok.
