Park Plaza Set To Convert Brand At New Orleans Radisson |
|
35th Hotel For The Emerging Full-Service Brand |
Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts, part of Minneapolis-based Carlson Hotels Worldwide, today announced that the former Radisson hotel in New Orleans will join the full- service hotel chain later this month as the Park Plaza New Orleans. Both Park Plaza and Radisson are brands of Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
The 759-room hotel, located downtown on Canal Street just four blocks from the French Quarter, offers two restaurants, room service, concierge services, gift shop and outdoor rooftop pool. The hotel also offers 65,000 sq. ft. of function space. The hotel has already undergone $12 million in renovations, with additional investment planned for the remainder of 2004. Located on the Canal Street Trolley Line, the hotel provides easy access to the riverfront, Harrah's Casino, The Aquarium and the French Quarter.
Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts serves the needs of business and leisure travelers who prefer the full range of services provided by a mid-scale hotel that makes guest feel cared for and valued through a culture of service. The rebranding follows the successful completion of Carlson Hotels Worldwide brand re-positioning project to help more clearly define Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts in order to better meet and exceed customer expectations.
"As an emerging hotel brand in the United States, this New Orleans hotel will help raise the awareness of Park Plaza in one the country's most popular travel destinations," said Bjørn Gullaksen, brand leader for Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts and executive vice president for full-service hotels for Carlson Hotel Worldwide.
The Park Plaza New Orleans is owned and managed by Dallas-based Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
