Choicehotels.Com Closes ’04 With Enhancements, Added Features |

Trip Mapping, Awards Redemption, Detailed Amenity Search Function Added to Site |
Worldwide lodging franchisor Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE:CHH) today launched a series of enhancements to its proprietary Web site, ChoiceHotels.com, that are designed to make the site even more user-friendly to the millions of travelers who visit it annually.
Map a Trip. Visitors to the ChoiceHotels.com home page can now select a new Map a Trip feature, complete with driving directions to and from their destinations, convenient Choice brand hotels located along their travel routes and printable maps. The Map a Trip feature is available for 20 of the countries in which Choice franchises hotels.
Award Redemption. Members of Choice Privileges, Choice Hotels’ rewards program, can now redeem points online. By logging into their online profiles, Choice Privileges members may redeem points for hotel stays, gift certificates, or airline miles from participating airline frequency programs. The online profiles also allow members to view past stays and future reservations.
Amenity Search. Visitors to ChoiceHotels.com may now search for a hotel by using up to 16 amenities as criteria. Hotels offering airport shuttle service, hotels with beachfront rooms, hotels with business centers or other features important to business travelers – these are some of the amenities now searchable on ChoiceHotels.com.
According to Mary Beth Knight, vice president, e-commerce for Choice Hotels, these latest enhancements to ChoiceHotels.com are part of a long-term strategic plan to maintain the site’s positioning as one of the hospitality industry’s premier booking engines. “Earlier this year, we introduced a new look and enhanced the site’s navigation and search functionality,” she said. “A survey of consumers following those changes revealed a 25 percent increase in customer satisfaction when compared to a similar survey conducted prior to the changes. Ease of navigation, content, interactivity – we rated high among users on all fronts.
“These latest enhancements to the site are designed to build on that success and to make ChoiceHotels.com even more user friendly for travelers,” Knight said. “More than any other medium, the Internet is a dynamic marketing tool that requires constant evolution to remain competitive. Our aim at Choice Hotels is to continually stay one step ahead as we strive to exceed expectations for visitors to ChoiceHotels.com.”
