  • Maritim Hotels Contracts have now been signed for the first Maritim Hotel in the North Rhine-Westphalian capital of Dusseldorf

The hotel in the city on the Rhine will comprise 533 rooms including 30 suites and a presidential suite and will be completed by the end of 2007. The Maritim Hotel Dusseldorf will have event and convention facilities for up to 5,250 participants and will become the largest conference hotel of the city. Once again Maritim is banking on its concept of "accommodation and conference facilities under one roof" which has been successful for years. The largest hall - resembling an auditorium - can accommodate up to 2,400 persons and will of course be fitted with the most modern convention equipment, as well as a stage and a gallery. Large openings in the shell of the building will fill the hall with natural light. The smaller hall can seat up to 1,150 persons and also offers a gallery and a stage area. Each of the halls is provided with its own foyer, one measuring 900 mē, the other 440 mē. A further 21 conference rooms and meeting suites are available for other events for 20 to 400 guests, so that the hotel will offer additional capacities for around 1,700 people.
The gastronomical concept includes a hotel restaurant seating 550, a bistro seating 220, a pub restaurant seating 120 and a bar seating 120 guests. In addition a VIP lounge will be installed on the 6th floor with exclusive services for the guests of the business floor. On the first floor the wellness area with fitness room, sauna and swimming pool will offer the opportunity to relax.

The hotel will not only have direct access to the airport's terminal building but the passage-like hotel foyer will also open up into the Airport City where 250,000 mē of office space are being created amidst green spaces and park areas. The hotel will also be provided with a main entrance and front drive. It will be the easiest thing to reach the hotel by motorway, air or rail. This uncomplicated accessibility will help to make the hotel into an ideal home for meetings and conventions, with participants from near and far and from the whole of Europe and beyond coming to this central location.

With 43 hotels, Maritim Hotelgesellschaft is ranked among the leading German hotel chains. Eight of the hotels are abroad in Bali, Belek/Turkey, Djerba, Malta, Mauritius, Riga/Latvia, Tenerife and also in Hammamet/Tunisia as the latest addition. As marketing and sales partner of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc Maritim is represented worldwide. The leading role of Maritim Hotelgesellschaft within the European first class hotel market is to be consolidated further by continual growth.
