Wingate Inn Brand Launches Animated Marketing Campaign |

Wingate Inns International today announced the launch of a marketing campaign that allows consumers to create animated virtual greeting cards featuring their own photos. |
The campaign invites Web surfers to submit photos of children, pets, friends and loved ones and animate them using lip-synchronization, blinking eyes and tilting heads, courtesy of Pulse Entertainment’s VeepersTM technology.
The nine-month campaign launched this week on the hotel chain’s Web site, www.wingateinns.com, and in its e-newsletter, sent to nearly 150,000 subscribers.
The newsletter contains a link to http://veepers.wingateinns.com, where recipients can customize and send an electronic-card by either choosing one of six provided photos or by downloading their own photos.
The cards then can be distributed via e-mail, appearing to have originated from the user’s own address. The cards feature the Wingate logo, a link to the brand’s Web site and an invitation to create a message.
“We designed this campaign to generate excitement and awareness for the Wingate Inn brand,” said Keith Pierce, Wingate Inn president. “Veepers historically has a phenomenal 95 percent open rate and a 90 percent click through rate.”
“This means that nearly every person who receives one of these cards will be exposed to the Wingate Inn brand.”
