InterContinental The Barclay New York has named Raymond Vermolen Hotel Manager. In this position, Vermolen is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the 686-room hotel in midtown Manhattan, one of InterContinental’s flagship properties in the United States. He was most recently the Food & Beverage Director of the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, in Lebanon where he launched an Asian multi concept restaurant, Wok Wok.
Vermolen has spent his career with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts. Prior to his tenure at the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, he was the Food & Beverage Manager for the InterContinental Hotel Group Alexandria in Egypt, the Food & Beverage Manager at the InterContinental Vendome Beirut in Lebanon and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at the InterContinental Athenaeum Athens in Greece. He has also held positions at the Le Grand InterContinental in Paris and InterContinental Amstel Hotel, Amsterdam.
Vermolen holds a Masters in Business Administration from Henley Management College in London, earned a Bachelors degree in the Hospitality Industry from the Hotel Management School in the Netherlands and a degree in Hotel Catering and Managerial Accounting from the H.N.D Cardiff Institute of Higher Education in Wales.
