Accor continues the impressive expansion of its premier Sofitel brand in China with the opening of Sofitel Plaza Xiamen in China's 'Garden City'.
Sofitel Plaza Xiamen is part of the 29-storey United Overseas Bank Building located in the city's main financial district 20 minutes from Xiamen International Airport. It is near many of the Xiamen's best know tourist spots including Nan Pu Tuo Temple and the Chinese Overseas Museum. The hotel looks out on the Straits of Taiwan offering panoramic views of the ocean and scenic Gu Lang Yu Island.

The expansion of Accor's five-star Sofitel hotel brand is part of a dramatic development that will see Accor's hotel network double in size from the current 28 hotels to 50 hotels by the end of 2007, including over 20 Sofitel hotels and resorts.
Sofitel Plaza Xiamen follows the opening this early month of Sofitel on Renmin Square Xian as part of a three-hotel complex in the heart of Xian. Other Sofitel hotels scheduled to open in China during 2005 include properties in Hangzhou, Haikou in Hainan Island and two hotels in Nanjing.
