HVS Appoints New Director

  • HVS International The London office of HVS International announces the appointment of Karen Smith MRICS as a director of the firm.

    Karen, a chartered surveyor who qualified as a member of the RICS in 1994, joined HVS in early 2001, having spent five years within the hotel and leisure division of Edward Symmons & Partners. She previously worked as a specialist hotel surveyor with Knight Frank and William Hillary Leisure & Hotels, and prior to that gained hotel and leisure industry exposure with Whitbread.

    Since joining HVS, Karen has been responsible for the valuations of hotels throughout the UK and Europe, as well as conducting feasibility studies for numerous new hotel projects.

    Commenting on her appointment, Russell Kett, managing director of HVS International, said, "Karen Smith's achievement marks an important milestone for our firm and recognises the significant contribution she has made to the success of our business in recent years. Karen is a respected valuer whose experience in the past ten years ranks her among the most experienced specialist hotel surveyors in the country."
