Hilton Adds Cendant's Online Consumer Americas Brands to List of Accredited Online Distributors
Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) (NYSE:HLT) announced that it has entered into an agreement with Cendant Travel Distribution Services, adding Orbitz.com, Lodging.com and Cheaptickets.com to the list of HHC-accredited distributors.
These sites are now part of a roster of online third-party booking channels approved under the HHC Distribution Standard and Online Accreditation Process, that was implemented in June 2005 and that requires participating Hilton Family hotels to work solely with HHC-accredited distributors when offering inventory. The accreditation of these channels supports the Hilton Family strategy of building relationships with online third-party distributors that offer better protection for Hilton customers and brands. The addition of Orbitz.com, Lodging.com and Cheaptickets.com demonstrates Hilton's continued commitment to providing its hotel owners with the opportunity to merchandise their inventory under the best possible participation terms while simultaneously strengthening overall brand integrity.
"Ultimately, our customers win as our process ensures consistency and reliability in the rates and inventory they find in every channel," said Bala Subramanian, senior vice president, distribution and brand integration, Hilton Hotels Corporation. "We are very pleased to be working with Cendant Travel Distribution Services so closely and to include Orbitz.com, Lodging.com and Cheaptickets.com as accredited online distributors."
As part of the agreement, these sites will provide online access to merchant inventory of participating Hilton Family hotels via OrbitzConnect, a direct connection to Hilton's proprietary OnQ reservation systems -- resulting in an enhanced quality of interaction with these accredited online distribution channels.
"Because all of our participating hotels share a common property management system, each will have direct access to manage their rates and availability in an efficient and dynamic manner," said Subramanian.
