|
|
FAIRFIELD, N.J., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Hospitality Corp.
(NYSE: PDQ) announced it has entered into an agreement with Timescape Resorts to develop the AmeriSuites Vacation Club at Calypso Cay Vacation Villas, in Orlando, FL, south of Lake Buena Vista. The 151-suite Vacation Club is expected to open in late 2001. Opportunities to develop other AmeriSuites Vacation Clubs with Timescape are currently being explored.
The AmeriSuites Vacation Club will offer an array of franchise
opportunities to hotel developers, such as timeshare franchise status, sales
and marketing, management and consulting. The Vacation Club concept will
allow timeshare developers the autonomy to operate their own project while
having the clout of a national brand.
As one of the fasting-growing and well-respected hotel brands in the
industry, AmeriSuites will provide great name recognition in key markets for
the Vacation Club, explained Prime's Senior Vice President of Franchise Sales
& Development Terry O'Leary. We are confident that our ability to support a
timeshare brand with AmeriSuites will offer new opportunities for timeshare
developers as well as hotel developers.
With the launch of our Calypso Cay Resort and subsequent resorts we can
create a timeshare brand that gives independent developers the opportunity to
compete with the major timeshare brands, noted Steve Bradley, Vice President
of Resort Development, Timescape.
Michael S. Finn, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Timescape
added, We know the major brands such as Hyatt and Marriott have taken the
lead in the timeshare industry, but we feel we can offer a new way to market
vacation ownership that will appeal to our customers as well as developers.
Timescape Resorts, LLC is an Epoch Properties company with offices in
Winter Park and Kissimmee, FL. It has assembled a team of timeshare industry
professionals, including Ronnie Lamkin, VP, Operations, formerly with Island
One and Interval International; Paul Smith, Director of Sales, formerly with
