Intellistrand's Guestdesk Hotel Reservation System Sees Significant Increase During 2005

  • Intellistrand Success of Myrtle Beach Online Hotel Reservation System Prompts Entry into Other Tourism Markets

    Intellistrand LLC, an industry leading developer of city, state and leisure portal Internet sites, has announced that GuestDesk, the company's online hotel reservation system, gained significant increases in reservations, room nights and revenue in 2005.

    GuestDesk booked more than 48,000 reservations representing more than 203,000 room nights in 2005. The growth in reservations and room nights were 30 percent increases from 2004 which helped raise revenue by 36 percent.

    GuestDesk's online reservations system allows affiliated hotels to designate a specific number of rooms to be available each night over a specified amount of time. These rooms are then sold on the Internet via the GuestDesk system, which is installed on each hotel's homepage. Allowing properties to retain control of their room inventory, as well as to maximize their revenue, GuestDesk provides hotels with the ability to update the availability of the rooms, schedule black out periods, and configure surcharges, discounts and minimum night stays. The system also provides the option to package accommodations with golf, entertainment and other specials.

    Attributing to the increased success of GuestDesk are the upgrades implemented to the reservation booking system. These upgrades allow for increases in speed and ease-of-use in making reservations. The new format allows users to plan an itinerary for their vacation, starting with the dates they will be vacationing, followed by booking the special package they are interested in, all in real-time. An additional tee-times component interfaces to the T-links system, a central inventory network of Myrtle Beach tee times.
