InterContinental Appoints Guillermo Valencia, General Manager Of Holiday Inn Resort Aruba

  • InterContinental InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Guillermo Valencia as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba. Guillermo will also continue his role as the Regional Director of Operations for the Caribbean, responsible for operations in Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, St.Thomas and Jamaica.

    In his new position as General Manager, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba as well as the properties' renovations.

    'Having held numerous positions at various IHG properties in Latin America, Guillermo brings extensive knowledge and experience to his new role at the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba,' says Alvaro Diago, Area President of InterContinental Hotels Group Latin America. 'His achievements speak for themselves, and include, three multi-million dollar renovations at well known IHG properties, increasing hotels' revenue and reaching the highest employee satisfaction rating in Latin America.'

    Guillermo has held various positions within IHG including Rooms Division Manager for the Hotel Tequendama in Bogota, Colombia; Marketing Director for the InterContinental Cali, Tamanaco in Caracas, Venezuela and Castellana InterContinental in Madrid. Additionally, he was Resident Manager at the InterContinental Medellin and General Manager of the InterContinental Guayana, Venezuela and InterContinental Cali.

    Guillermo graduated from the Hotel School in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain. He has lived in eight countries and is fluent in Spanish and English and has a good understanding of German, French and Italian. Currently, Guillermo resides in Aruba with his wife, Ines Elvira Marino. They have three children.

    The Holiday Inn Resort Aruba - features 600 modern, well-appointed guestrooms with private balconies and patios that offer amazing views of Palm Beach. Recently renovated, the resort features a spacious new pool, entertainment deck, as well as completely refurbished restaurants, additional meeting spaces and complete new wedding packages.
