Asia Pacific Hotel Trends 2001 Edition ready from PKF Consulting |
|
San Francisco and Singapore, November 16, 2001. -The 2001 edition of Asia Pacific Trends in the Hotel Industry is ready for distribution, according to Patrick Quek, President and CEO of PKF Consulting. |
A joint effort of PKF Consulting affiliates The Hospitality Research Group and Singapore-based Hospitality Asset Advisors Pte Ltd, the book presents data from year-end financial reports gathered from hotels and resorts across Asia
Like the U.S. version, Trends in the Hotel Industry-USA, this edition of Asia Pacific Trends is used by hotel owners, lenders, managers, and others to compare the performance of their properties to an aggregate of hotels in their own and other geographic areas. Asia Pacific Trends covers hotels and resorts in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, The Philippines, China, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand
A unique feature of this year's Asia Pacific Trends is its focus on financial results from a country's major destinations. For example, the report for Malaysia separately analyzes hotels in the country of Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur, and resorts in Malaysia. It provides separate reports on Indonesia hotels, Indonesia resorts, Bali hotels, and Jakarta, hotels. For Australia, it presents Australia hotels, Sydney hotels, and Australia and Pacific resorts. A separate report presents data on small Indo-Pacific resorts.
The book allows comparisons of revenues, departmental costs and expenses, undistributed operating expenses (such as marketing and utilities), and management fees and taxes. Most are reported in local currencies. All statistics are based on financial reports from year-end 2000.
Asia Pacific Trends includes a study on benchmarking hotel profitability by HRG's Managing Director of Applied Research Dr. John B. Corgel and an essay on hotel valuation by Larry Henry, a hotel appraiser with PKF Consulting. The book also includes a glossary of hotel terminology.
The 32-page book is available from the San Francisco or Singapore offices, or from the firm's web site at www.pkfc.com or www.haasingapore.com. The cost is US$200.00.
