  • Travel Industry Association Now the Source of Ecommerce, Travel Distribution and Marketing Solutions to the Travel Industry

The Travel Industry Association (TIA) announces that Res-Expo, the travel industry's leading technology and tactical conference will now be part of TravelCom, the leading eCommerce and online marketing conference and exposition.

'TIA is taking a huge leap forward in becoming the source for information on travel distribution and marketing,' remarked TIA's Chief Operating Officer, Mike Pusateri. 'We're recalibrating the traditional approach to travel industry conferences by combining TravelCom and Res-Expo into the ultimate industry event and experience.'

TravelCom's position as the leading eCommerce and marketing conference coupled with Res-Expo's tactical and 'how-to' subject matter fulfills the industry's need for a single travel distribution and eCommerce conference that will address the diverse and extensive needs of the industry.

'This combination provides the conduit to address head-on the historic shifts taking place in the travel industry by providing strategic insight along with useable knowledge and solutions,' Pusateri further commented.

'I am excited by the new opportunities afforded to the industry through this combined initiative,' said Vickie Singer, President and CEO of Travel Technology Source, the producers of Res-Expo. 'As the first gathering of eCommerce and distribution executives in 2007, TravelCom and Res-Expo will open the door for industry leaders to project the year ahead, dissect trends and opportunities, and showcase pivotal technologies-giving industry participants the critical information, insights and know-how they need to remain competitive and profitable in an industry that is undergoing dramatic change.'

'The combination of the TIA eCommerce Committee and the Res-Expo Advisory Board will bring together the most talented and energetic leaders from all sectors of the industry,' said Jay Gray, TIA's Vice President of Technology and general manager of TravelCom. 'Just as they are spawning advancements in marketing and distribution, enabling travel buyers to have instantaneous and vivid online experiences, we are working to transform TravelCom into the same type of experience-an atmosphere of robust, on-demand interaction with key information and advice to help travel organizations be successful.'

Gray noted that the show will deliver exceptional content, more networking time, vertically specific tracts, additional expert panels, and interactive sessions that impart the needs and desires of travel buyers and technology users.

The combined shows will make their debut appearance at TravelCom 2007, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 4 - 6, 2007.
