Bass Hotels & Resorts (BHR) today announced the re-branding of the resorts owned by the Tahiti Beachcomber S.A. Company to Inter-Continental resorts.
“The three properties have changed from Parkroyal to become the Tahiti Beachcomber Inter-Continental Resort, Moorea Beachcomber Inter-Continental Resort and Bora Bora Beachcomber Inter-Continental Resort,” said BHR Chief Operating Officer Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific (ANZSP), Tony South.
“The re-branding has involved the refurbishment and development of the resorts to Inter-Continental resort standards, while maintaining the unique French Polynesian identity and experience and the staff and management team already in place.
“The signing of a joint venture agreement with Tahiti Beachcomber S.A. Company formalises BHR’s long-term interest in the South Pacific. Re-branding to Inter-Continental further supports the major re-positioning exercise and new marketing strategy for the Inter-Continental brand that will soon be introduced globally.
“The re-branding is part of BHR’s overall strategy to increase the presence of its Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn global brands and to achieve a leading market position in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific region (ANZSP).
“We’re confident the three Parkroyal resorts will enhance the unique strengths of
Inter-Continental as it is introduced into the French Polynesia marketplace,” Mr South said.
The Tahiti Beachcomber Inter-Continental Resort is situated on the largest of the Polynesian islands, Tahiti which is renowned for its white sandy beaches, art galleries, churches and museums in the Papara, Afaahiti and Papeete districts, as well as the tomb of the Royal family in Arue and the natural attractions of Mont Marau, the cliffs of Pari and the waterfalls of Tiarei.
Beachcomber Inter-Continental Resort is on the sister island to Tahiti, Moorea, which counts among her eight mountains Routi at an altitude if 900m and the unique Moua Puta (Pierced Mountain). Moorea’s other attractions include pineapple plantations, the waterfalls of Afareitu and the Tiki theatre that recreates a traditional Polynesian village for those in search of culture.
Bora Bora Beachcomber Inter-Continental Resort is situated on Bora Bora which was once home to the US Navy during World War II. Bora Bora is recognisable by the flat profile of Otemanu Mountain and is best known for the beauty of its turquoise waters.
These three resorts offer Inter-Continental guests access to all of the island's attractions and exposure to its unique, traditional French Polynesian culture.
