Regent Hotels & Resorts' Global Expansion Begins With Opening of The Regent South Beach Late Fall 2006 |

In late fall 2006 , The Regent South Beach, Fla., kicks off a series of hotel openings for the luxury hotel brand throughout the U.S., Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Over the next two years, the Regent brand will double its portfolio with the addition of seven new hotels. Regent's existing portfolio encompasses six properties in the cities of Shanghai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Berlin and Zagreb.
In Asia, The Regent Beijing will open in Nov. 2006, becoming the brand's second hotel to open in China in less than a year. Developments in the U.S. will continue in 2007 with the opening of The Regent Bal Harbour, in Fla., and The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf Hotel & Residences.
Future Regent developments in Asia, Europe and the Middle East include properties in Bangkok, Thailand; Beijing and Ningbo, China; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The new development surge has breathed new life into a pioneering luxury hotel brand, legendary for its unparalleled service and standards. The new hotels' services and features will range from personal assistant services, Penthouse Butlers and private elevators for each guest room to celebrity chef restaurants, luxury spas and spacious balconies for all guest rooms.
The Regent South Beach: Celebrity Chef Restaurant, Butler Services and Balconies for All
The 80-suite Regent South Beach, opening late fall 2006, offers upscale travelers the best of both worlds - the cachet and chic-style of South Beach and personalized luxury experiences of Regent Hotels & Resorts.
Inspired by ocean breezes, world-renowned architectural firm, Arquitectonica, has designed The Regent South Beach to embrace South Beach lifestyle. Each of the hotel's 80 oversized guest suites will average approximately 500 square feet and feature approximately 200 square foot balconies.
Celebrity chef Govind Armstrong will debut Table 8 South Beach, sister restaurant to his trendy Table 8 Los Angeles, featuring prime indoor and al fresco dining with an expansive Bar & Lounge. A local high profile retailer and an elite in-residence spa will offer travelers style and relaxation.
Other noteworthy features include: the first-ever hotel personal assistant cell phone service, assisting guests even when they are off property; penthouse-dedicated 24-hour butler service and Mercedes-Benz(R) S550 sedan house cars.
Spanning between Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue at 14th Street, The Regent South Beach is within steps of the Lincoln Road Shops, Miami Beach Convention Center, and Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts, Bass Museum & Cultural Center and the Miami Beach Marina. The Regent Beijing Opens November 2006 in Heart of Commercial Center
Opening in Nov. 2006, The Regent Beijing is set comfortably between the sleek modernity of the business district and the ancient hutongs of traditional China, making it an ideal position for visitors to enjoy a true Beijing experience. Located in the heart of the commercial center, guests can adventure into daily Chinese life as well as explore the well-known attractions.
The hotel's 500 rooms include 443 guest rooms and 57 suites, with some rooms offering panoramic views of the spectacular Forbidden City. The 124-suite Regent Bal Harbour, due to open in second quarter 2007, offers travelers a relaxed and refined resort experience. Built on the borders of the Atlantic Ocean and Baker's Haulover Inlet in the prestigious Village of Bal Harbour, Fla., the hotel provides breathtaking panoramas of the ocean to the east, Intracostal Waterway to the west, Miami to the south, and Haulover Inlet to the north. The hotel is also located within walking distance of the Bal Harbour Shops, considered to be the Florida's Madison Avenue.
One of the hotel's many trendsetting features is the semi-private elevator that each guest suite will feature. The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf Hotel and Residences, scheduled to open in fourth quarter 2007, will feature a 150-room luxury condo hotel and 104 exclusive residences.
Such services include personalized concierge, world class dining and access to an 18,000 square foot European style spa and health club. The spectacular waterfront site also offers 300 square feet of dockage and a water shuttle service to Logan Airport, Charlestown and the Seaport District.
The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf will also boast a bar and lounge with spectacular views of the Bunker Hill monument and Charlestown, a seasonal café along the promenade and a gourmet restaurant with waterfront views, as well as 6,200 square feet of meeting space.
Located in a historic residential neighborhood at the edge of Boston Harbor, the hotel is within walking distance of Boston's central business district, government center, and historic landmarks including the Freedom Trail, Old North Church and Faneuil Hall.
Regent To Open Luxury Hotel for Upscale Travelers Visiting Dubrovnik
The 120-room The Regent Dubrovnik, expected to open in early 2009, will offer spectacular views of Croatia's Adriatic Sea, which is considered to be one of the world's top diving destinations. The hotel will be located in the eastern part of the Sungarden Resort, and will feature an elite spa and wellness facility, in addition to specialty restaurants, bars and meeting facilities. The hotel will be the second Regent hotel in Croatia; the first one being in the capital city of Zagreb.
The Regent Ningbo To Open As City's First Luxury Hotel
The Regent Ningbo, scheduled to open in second quarter 2008, will be the first international luxury hotel in this fast growing area of east China, 100 miles south of Shanghai.
The 325-room Regent Ningbo will be the centerpiece of a major redevelopment currently underway to transform the downtown area of the Ningbo Economic and Technical Development Zone, also known as Beilun.
The 1.2 million-square-foot project also includes offices and a retail and entertainment center. The hotel will have a mix of 270 guestrooms and 55 suites and offer two Chinese signature restaurants, a Japanese restaurant, a bar and grill, and international cuisine restaurant and lobby and poolside bars. It will also feature an 11,000-square-foot ballroom, function and meeting rooms, business center and an executive lounge.
The Regent Bangkok Hotel & Residences To Offer Prime Location in Downtown Bangkok
The Regent Bangkok Hotel & Residences, scheduled to open in second quarter 2008, features a state-of-the-art development comprised of two separate high rise towers, with the Regent Bangkok positioned in front of the residential condominium tower.
The hotel will feature 327 luxurious rooms, including 23 suites, while the residential development, branded the Regent Residences, will include 350 stylish condominiums.
The Regent Bangkok will include five levels of public space featuring an extensive retail area, high-end restaurants and bars, a 7,000-square-foot ballroom, parking area for 200 cars, and a rooftop health club with swimming pool and spa.

The Regent Dubai To Open as Brand's First Resort Property in Middle East
The Regent Dubai at Canal Point, scheduled to open in 2010, will be a landmark property in new Dubai, reaching more than 1,500 feet high, and featuring exceptional architectural design inspired by the Asian lotus flower. The property will be located between The Palm, Jumeirah and Jebel Ali Free Zone and will be part of a new residential development consisting of three office towers, two major residential towers and a community services area, which will include a medical center and a free standing Thai-inspired wellness center.
The first 17 floors will feature up to 250 luxurious guestrooms, with the largest being the Presidential Suite (approximately 920 square feet), 34 floors will have a total of 250 serviced apartments, also to be managed by Rezidor SAS Hospitality. There will also be 21 floors with 105 residential apartments, which will be independent of the hotel.
The Regent Dubai will offer a wide range of food & beverage facilities including a sky restaurant on the top level and five other restaurants with various international flavors. Other features include a spa and wellness area and extensive conference facilities consisting of two ballrooms (approximately 2,000 square feet each) and 20 meeting rooms, plus a lecture hall with capacity to host up to 300 conference delegates, and a library. The hotel will have a strong well-being focus, set in serene, relaxing surroundings with lavish gardens and lagoons.
Regent Hotels & Resorts currently has six hotels open in the cities of Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei and Zagreb.
