Washington DC, January 10, 2002 -- “Discriminating Standards, Unparalleled Experiences.” Over 29,000 Condé Nast Traveler subscribers cast votes on their favorites among the most elite travel destinations in the world. From among these choices, the editors at the magazine extracted the highest rated hotels, resorts and cruise lines. For the third year in a row, Washington DC’s grand, historic Willard Inter-Continental received top rating among the finest of the capital’s five deluxe properties.
As sheer numbers tell only part of the story, Condé Nast Traveler editor’s delved deeper, interviewing thousands of poll respondents on their first-hand impressions of everything from doorman to desert. Savvy Traveler readers noted that the Willard’s “Service is beyond compare,” that its Round Robin Bar is “excellent” and the hotel’s traditional rooms are “a nice size.”
“We are glad to see that our focus on quality guest services backed by a team of highly dedicated hospitality professionals have yielded consistent positive results in this important industry survey” noted general manager, Jean-Jacques Reibel. “The Willard is a classic Washington institution which requires particular care and attention to details for the best possible guest experience.” Reibel continued.
