HOLLYWOOD, Fl, November 2001 -- The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa opening January 10, 2002, in Hollywood, FL, on the Atlantic shore, is among the most technologically advanced hotels in the world.
The 1,000-room hotel with adjacent Convention Center and nearby Country Club is not only the most extensive resort to be launched in the United States in the first part of the 21st century but it has created an unparalleled, cutting-edge, all-fiber, gigabyte infrastructure to accomplish state-of-art meetings and conventions.

Guest Room Capabilities
Technology services have been created to accommodate the guest's in-room personal needs and corporate meeting needs. Each of the 1,000 guest rooms features the following:

Note: Suites at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa along with Country Club guest rooms also feature in-room faxes with faxing, copying and printing capabilities.
Convention Center Capabilities
Adjacent to the hotel is a state-of-the art, 209,000-square-foot Convention Center that has been specifically designed and dedicated to facilitate successful business meetings. Extra measures have been taken to increase guest intraconnectivity between the resort, Country Club and Convention Center to make corporate group meetings seamless in any place at any time including:
* 860 Dataports comprised of CAT5 and fiber connections
located in the Convention Center
* High-speed Internet Access
* Corporate Web hosting service; a guest is able to have Internet access to all of the hotel's meeting rooms and be linked to any number of guest rooms at the same time via a secure and private networks that allows companies to release proprietary information to meeting attendees
* Virtual networking between group and home corporate offices
* Within the Great Hall are Walker ducts and 50-patch paneling to give more flexibility and connectivity, power and telephone service
* Corporate Technical Meeting Packages available according to needs and technical requirements
According to the hotel's Director of MIS, Steve Hicks, The Westin Diplomat's concept of 'private networking' connectivity will create secure networks within networks for meetings and conventions not possible at other properties. These networks may then be extended to guest rooms, meeting space, out to the Internet, or back to a corporate home office.
