  • Radisson Scheduled to Open Summer 2008

Carlson Hotels Worldwide announced that the Radisson Resort St. Martin is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2008. The premier beachfront resort property, located at the picturesque natural cove of Anse Marcel on the chic French side of the island, was previously known as L'Habitation de Lonvilliers Resort. Carlson will be investing over $80 million in the resort including extensive renovations and new construction to create a luxurious second flagship Radisson Resort in the Caribbean, complementing the existing world-class Radisson Resort in Aruba.

"Radisson Resort St. Martin will be a major part of the renaissance of the island's French side, offering an upscale resort experience in the exotic and relaxing environment of St. Martin," states Yvonne La Penotiere, president of Carlson Hotels Worldwide -- Americas. "This property compliments our expansion strategy of offering upscale destination resorts in key Caribbean markets."

Radisson Resort St. Martin is slated to welcome its first guests in the summer of 2008 and will feature Radisson Resorts' Caribbean brand's acclaimed Larimar Spa; more than 5,000 sq. ft. of meeting space plus exciting outdoor venues; swank open-air, oceanfront restaurant and bar; casual market-style eatery; contemporary upscale lobby lounge; extensive lush tropical gardens and a showcase free-form, zero-entry infinity pool. Guest accommodations, totaling 189 rooms and 61 suites, will be located in several low-rise buildings with pool and garden areas plus waterfront Marina suites adjacent to the property's 150-slip full-service marina accommodating yachts up to 90 ft.

Located on the Northwest coast of the French side of St. Martin on 1,600 feet of beachfront, Radisson Resort St. Martin is nestled in the picturesque cove on Anse Marsel, one of the island's best preserved bays. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and a magnificent white sand beach on the Caribbean Sea to the west, the resort is a 45-minute ride from the international airport by car and just 25 minutes by water taxi. Nearby, Grand Case, a small village that is regarded as the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean featuring numerous acclaimed restaurants and chefs, is a 10-minute ride away. The famous Orient Beach, site of an underwater marine reserve and coral reef, is also 10 minutes away. The new Greg Norman-designed Temenos Golf Club on Anguilla is 35 minutes from boat to tee.
