Hilton Set to Develop a New Boutique Hotel Chain |

November 20, 2000 -- HVS International -- Boutique hotels, the design-led lifestyle hotels that are in favour with the young, affluent business traveller, is to gain a new entry into this rapidly growing market.
The hilton Group is currently building a 130-bedroom hotel in London's Trafalgar Square which is due to open in May 2001.
If successful, hilton plans to develop a small chain of boutique hotels to profit from this lucrative market.
On a separate note, Hilton is engaged in talks with the Israeli-based hotel operator Park Plaza Europe to sell of six former Stakis hotels for an estimated £52 million. Park Plaza Europe has hotels throughout Europe and Israel; the European hotels include the Shaw park Plaza in Euston and the Sherlock Holmes in London. The latter was acquired from Hilton last year for £10 million.
