MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2000--Occidental-Allegro Hotels & Resorts (Allegro), the world's largest all-inclusive resort company, is set to reach top sales levels in 2000 in the US market.
Through October, combined U.S. market sales at the four Allegro Resort brands (Allegro Resorts, Royal Hideaway, Jack Tar Village, and Caribbean Village) have exceeded 1999 levels by 25 percent. These sales levels surpassed the company's own projected sales for the period by 21 percent. And they far outstrip the general hotel market in the Caribbean and Mexico which according to Caribbean Tourism Organization Secretary, General Jean Holder, has been losing U.S. market business to Europe, mega resorts, theme parks, gambling casinos and cruises.
Ivo Razza, Occidental-Allegro senior director of marketing, attributes the outstanding Allegro results to the guerilla marketing and sales efforts in the U.S market. We do not have a huge media budget, but we know how to focus on the right target markets. One of our biggest strengths is the outstanding collaboration between the sales and marketing departments, Razza said. I am very sales oriented and Carlos Rodriguez, Vice President of Sales, is very marketing driven. This enables us a unique market strategy, which maximizes our effort in the marketplace.
