12-story property to be located just outside of nation's capital
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG], announced that the Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria has recently opened. The 253-room property is located only five miles away from downtown Washington, D.C., and will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation to guestrooms, restaurants, meeting space and public areas, to be completed by year-end.

The Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria is located just eight blocks from shops and historic homes on Old Alexandria's historic waterfront. Just minutes away are popular national landmarks, including Mt. Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, The White House and National Mall & Memorial Parks.
The hotel will feature the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage program, which is available at all Crowne Plaza hotels in the Americas. Sleep Advantage encompasses the entire sleep experience, from training staff on how to create and maintain a restful environment to providing innovative products and services. Program components include new bedding, guaranteed wake-up calls, designated quiet zones, night lights, drape clips, sleep CDs, sleep tips and amenities such as eye masks, ear plugs and lavender spray.
Also consistent with the Crowne Plaza brand, the hotel offers a comprehensive meetings package to ensure a seamless planning process and exceptional meeting experience consisting of three key components: a Two-Hour Response Guarantee, Crowne Meetings Director and a Meetings Daily Debrief. The hotel will offer 10,000 sq.-ft. of meeting space.
The hotel will offer an on-site restaurant, an outdoor rooftop pool, a fitness center and a business center. Complimentary wired and wireless Internet will be available throughout the hotel.
The Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria is owned by Oliver T Carr Company, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group. At time of purchase, Oliver T Carr Company also acquired the nearby Holiday Inn & Suites Alexandria Historic District. With these two hotels and the historic Willard InterContinental Hotel, Oliver T Carr Company now owns three IHG properties, all of which are managed by IHG's operations division, The Hotel Management Group.

The property is located at 901 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Va. The hotel was formerly a Radisson.
