  • Hyatt Alamo City's Newest Hotel Opens February 2008

Veteran Hyatt Corporation executive Tom Netting has been named managing director of the new Grand Hyatt San Antonio, which will open in February 2008.

Netting comes to the Alamo City from the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, California, where he was managing director since 2004. His distinguished career with the Hyatt Corporation spans three decades, in which he worked his way up from a member of the housekeeping staff to senior level positions in the United States and the Caribbean.

'Professionally and personally, I am thrilled to relocate to San Antonio,' Netting says. 'This is an exciting time to be here as the city grows into one of the country's premier metropolitan areas.'

The property joins the long-established Hyatt Regency San Antonio, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa and other Hyatt properties serving the San Antonio area. 'Grand Hyatt San Antonio will outperform all other Hyatt hotels across the world in pre-booked business. With over 600,000 room nights booked and 300,000 more pending, Grand Hyatt San Antonio has the most successful pre-opening sales results of any Hyatt to date.'

Netting says the new Grand Hyatt San Antonio will be an important component in the city's future growth as a visitor destination.

'Grand Hyatt San Antonio will add unique qualities to the existing mix of properties in San Antonio that can only strengthen the city's positioning in the highly competitive visitor industry.'

Grand Hyatt San Antonio is a premier destination in the heart of downtown. The 1,003-room, 37-story luxury hotel, with 115,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting space, is adjacent to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and famed San Antonio Riverwalk. The hotel also includes a fully equipped 24-hour StayFit@Hyatt gym with heated outdoor lap pool, Grand Club concierge level accommodations and a multitude of unique food and beverage option.
