UNITE HERE Local 54 Establishes Committee of Tropicana Workers as Sale Process Unfolds
UNITE HERE Local 54, the Atlantic City casino workers union, today announced the formation of a committee of workers from the Atlantic City Tropicana Casino to represent the interests of Tropicana employees as the sale process for the facility proceeds.
'Workers at the Tropicana are excited to turn a new page, and we all ultimately look forward to having a good relationship with the new owner,' said Bob McDevitt, President of Local 54. 'Given what the employees have been through at the property, we think it is important for workers to have their own voice as the process unfolds. We hope that any prospective bidder for the Tropicana will recognize that and see the value in sharing their vision for the property with those that work there.'
The committee will be comprised of 6 Tropicana employees, Bob McDevitt, and Chris Magoulas.
