Capital Hotel Management Announces New Division: CHM Government Services |
|
Capital Hotel Management (CHM), a leading hospitality investment and asset management firm, today announces the launch of CHM Government Services, a new division created to provide government and public agencies and their partners with creative and effective business-based solutions to a wide-range of issues surrounding the ownership and operation of hospitality and recreational assets. |
CHM Government Services recognizes the important role that government and public agencies along with their partners have in meeting the needs of visitors to public lands. These natural, cultural and historic destinations often include a variety of hospitality and recreational assets, such as hotels, restaurants, marinas, golf courses, campgrounds, ski areas, beaches, trails and retail operations. Given the complexity of the issues surrounding these assets, including public ownership and regulatory structure, third-party management and maintaining a balance between visitor use and resource preservation, government and public agencies have very specialized needs and require assistance as they continue to offer and oversee these operations.
'We were fortunate to have the opportunity to expand our practice to include a highly-specialized team of hospitality professionals who have dedicated their careers to advising state, federal and international land management agencies and their partners on a wide-range of visitor-based assets' said Ken Wilson, CEO of CHM.
The CHM Government Services core team includes Geoff Baekey, Margaret Bailey, Larry Trabulsi, Susan Mann and Carey Stavrevski, and are supported by their CHM colleagues located across six offices throughout the U.S. This cohesive team, formerly working together as part of PricewaterhouseCooper',s Washington Federal Practice, has a proven track record in serving the business advisory needs of public agencies, including the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service and numerous state parks.
'Having worked closely with the principals of CHM for more than a decade, including collaboration on several past projects, we knew there were many synergies between our two groups. Joining forces only serves to strengthen the team, the depth of experience and services we can now offer clients' said Baekey, senior vice president, CHM.
The public sector faces many of the same challenges as the private sector, particularly in the areas of ownership, management and operation of hospitality and recreation assets. Analyzing operations and developing solutions for publicly-owned assets pose additional challenges as government agencies and public entities must often balance recreational needs with natural resource management objectives. The CHM Government Services team understands the unique challenges of public operating environments and has provided operation and investment strategies that help preserve, protect and enhance numerous assets at local, state and national destinations, including such iconic sites as Yellowstone National Park, Statue of Liberty and Grand Teton National Park.
'Having expanded resources available to focus on adapting private sector best practices will certainly strengthen our ability and effectiveness in advising public agencies and their partners who have the responsibility for overseeing visitor services in natural, cultural and historical environments. We are excited to continue to work in partnership with our public clients and their partners, offering them the level of expertise on which they have historically relied with an expanded depth of resources and innovative strategies to draw from in addressing their needs', concluded Bailey, Senior Vice President, CHM Government Services.
