Hilton Hotels & Resorts Builds on New Pet Friendly Program Through Partnership with Pet Shelters Across America |
|
To build on its recently announced Hilton Pet Friendly program Hilton Hotels has partnered with Pet Shelters Across America (PSAA), the nation's leading animal sheltering organization dedicated to providing homes for animals in need. As the experts in providing warm hospitality to animals of all shapes and sizes, PSAA assisted Hilton in developing Pet Friendly, including providing tips for traveling with pets and information about vaccinations. |
Travel tips are available on www.hilton.com/pets.
'Pet Shelters Across America is the largest pet adoption and sheltering community in the United States, serving 130 million people coast to coast,' said Kathryn Wright Warnick, president - PSAA. 'With Hilton's support our shelters will be able to better care for millions of lost, abandoned and surrendered animals and will have additional resources at our disposal to educate and encourage children and adults on the humane treatment of animals and how to become responsible pet owners.'
Hilton will donate $500,000 over three years to support PSAA's more than 70 member shelter locations across the U.S. In addition, various Hiltons around the country will donate sheets and towels to PSAA members addressing one of the most common needs of pet shelters.
'Hilton strongly believes in the importance of being good partners in the communities in which we live, work and play,' said Jeff Diskin, senior vice president - brand management, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. 'When we created Hilton's Pet Friendly program we recognized the importance of aligning ourselves with an organization that provides shelter to pets that don't have the luxury of a caring owner or a warm bed. Through our sponsorship of PSAA we are helping provide shelter to pets in need and in turn learning how to be better hosts to our furry, four-legged hotel guests.'
In addition to supporting PSAA's myriad educational programs, Hilton's sponsorship will also help support PSAA's current efforts in promoting animal adoptions from humane organizations, offering subsidized spay and neuter programs, helping to microchip animals so they can be reunited with their owners in the event they become lost, and encouraging best practices in human and animal health programs.
To further enhance the guest experience for people and animals alike, Hilton Hotels recently launched Hilton: Pet Friendly, a program designed to make traveling with pets easier. Beginning this summer, cats and dogs will be welcome at most Hilton Hotels & Resorts throughout the United States and Canada. The program will roll out internationally later this year. To learn more about Hilton's pet policy, guests can visit www.hilton.com/pets or contact the hotel at which they would like to stay for pet-specific information.
