Marriott Welcomes Alaska Airlines as 40th Mileage-Earning Partner

    WASHINGTON and SEATTLE, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Marriott International,
    Inc. (NYSE: MAR) and Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) announced today a new
    partnership, allowing members of their frequent travel programs to earn an
    unlimited number of Alaska Mileage Plan miles toward free air travel when
    staying at any of nine Marriott brands, representing nearly 2,000 hotels
    worldwide. With the new partnership, Marriott Rewards allows guests to earn
    free travel on their choice of 40 airlines.

    Effective immediately, Marriott Rewards members designating Alaska
    Airlines as their airline program of choice will earn:

    Three (3) Mileage Plan miles per U.S. dollar spent at:

    * Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites
    * Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites
    * Marriott Conference Centers
    * Marriott Vacation Club International

    And, one (1) Mileage Plan mile per U.S. dollar spent on the room rate only
    at:

    * Residence Inn by Marriott
    * TownePlace Suites by Marriott
