WICHITA, Kansas (November 2001) - Effective November 1, 2001, LodgeWorks, L.P., a Wichita, Kansas based owner and operator of all-suite hotels nationwide, has assumed the management of six (6) Hawthorn SuitesÒ Hotels located in and around Dallas and Austin. The hotels, owned by an affiliate of AEW Capital Management, L.P. in Boston, consist of 595 suites combined and serve the specific markets of Dallas Market Center, Arlington, Richardson, Central Austin, Northwest Austin, and South Austin.
LodgeWorks, L.P. owns and operates the Sierra SuitesÒ Hotel chain, an emerging brand of all-suite, extended-stay hotels and owns and operates 8 Summerfield SuitesÒ by Wyndham Hotels as a franchisee of Dallas-based Wyndham International, Inc.
This contract marks a very deliberate foray for LodgeWorks into the third party management contract business explains B. Anthony Isaac, President and Partner. We are confident that our seasoned team and available resource specialists can add measurable value to this portfolio.

LodgeWorks L.P. is a management and development partnership formed in March, 2000 by Rolf E. Ruhfus, B. Anthony Isaac and others; founders of the Sierra Suites chain and pioneers of extended-stay lodging. The team successfully developed the RESIDENCE INNâ concept (which they later sold to Marriott) and the upscale SUMMERFIELD SUITESâ Hotels, which the company sold to Wyndham International in July 1998.
Sierra Suites Hotels is an all suites chain that combines a high-quality studio suite concept with targeted amenities and a service
experience that rivals more upscale competitors. Catering to business
travelers spending several days to several weeks at average daily rates between $60 and $100, Sierra Suites Hotels were among the first to target this rapidly expanding segment of the hotel market. With all new construction, Sierra Suites offers roomy, open studio suites with TV and sofa-sleeper, a full kitchen and separate bath and vanity. Suites provide complete office amenities, including high-speed internet access, two phone lines, personal voice mail and speakerphone.
Summerfield Suites by Wyndham is an up-scale all suite hotel brand that offers guests separate living and sleeping areas, full kitchens, enhanced work areas, a complimentary breakfast and an evening social hour. In addition, Summerfield Suites offers signature two-bedroom, two-bathroom suites designed for equal-status business travelers in training classes or attending meetings, and for families on weekend excursions.
SIERRA SUITESÒ Hotels offer 17 properties nationwide, located in Atlanta (3), Boston (3), Orlando (2), suburban New Jersey, Phoenix (3), Pleasanton, San Jose, Seattle, and Washington D.C. (2). The eighteenth location is under construction in San Ramon, CA and is expected to open in the summer of 2002. SUMMERFIELD SUITESâ by Wyndham offers 37 properties nationwide with 8 LodgeWorks' franchised locations in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, suburban New Jersey & New York, Philadelphia, Pleasanton, Scottsdale and Washington D.C. LodgeWorks has initiated construction of its ninth Summerfield Suites by Wyndham property in Pleasant Hill, CA with a projected opening in the fall 2002.
