Sardinia: luxury, sun and sea
Sardinia is located in the heart of the Mediterranean and has a population of more than 1,600,000 resident in the provinces of Cagliari, Sassari, Oristano and Nuoro. The island has a surface area of 24.089 km2 with a coastline that in itself makes up for almost a quarter of the whole coastline of Italy.
Witness to the passing of more than a dozen ancient civilizations, visitors find Sardinia is a small continent of archaeological remains, emerald seas, and mountains and plains of exceptional environmental wealth and beauty. The exclusive Costa Esmeralda (Emerald Coast), named for the color of its waters, is a meeting point for the tourist elite and is reminiscent of the classical Mediterranean image of small, white houses amidst exuberant green scenery flanked by beautiful, clear blue waters.
Sol Meliá is the leading hotel company in Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean, the third largest hotel company in Europe and number ten in the world ranking. The company provides more than 350 hotels in 30 countries under its Meliá Hotels, TRYP Hotels, Sol Hotels and Paradisus Resorts brands.
