Tim Black Named as Company's Executive Vice President of Operations
Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ: WOLF), North America's leading family of indoor waterpark resorts, announced today that Tim Black, currently the company's senior vice president of operations, will become executive vice president of operations, effective January 1, 2009.
'Tim's experiences in the entertainment industry and his clear vision for operational leadership will be valuable as Great Wolf Resorts continues to lead the indoor waterpark resort category through innovation and expansion,' said president and chief operating officer Kim Schaefer. 'Tim has proven his capabilities in managing multiple facilities and in finding operating efficiencies, and we're thrilled he will be using those skills to guide our entire portfolio of resorts.'
In his new role, Black will oversee all aspects of the company's resort operations to maintain high service levels, guest entertainment and satisfaction, and property performance. His responsibilities will include working with corporate officers and senior leadership to ensure implementation of corporate strategy, budget oversight, and management of vice presidents of operations, corporate directors, and sales & marketing to ensure brand compliance and consistency.
Black first joined the company in October 2004 as general manager of its Great Wolf Lodge property in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. He was promoted to regional vice president of operations in December 2005, and further promoted to senior vice president of operations in June 2008. He holds a B.S. degree in human resource management from LaSalle University and has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Great Wolf Resorts, Black served in senior management roles for multiple properties for Six Flags, Inc.
