The Rezidor Hotel Group announces its first Park Inn in Kazakhstan at Almaty Airport: The 133- room hotel is located adjacent to the International Airport Terminal and will open its doors in December 2008.
Almaty's airport serves many international airlines, and has an advantageous geographical location on the route from East Asia to Europe and back. The Great Silk Road from China to the West has passed through this magnificent city since the earliest times. Besides 133 guestrooms, the Park Inn Almaty Airport will offer an all-day restaurant, 2 bars, and a conference room. The property is also located close to the railway station (5 kilometers) with international links to Urumqi, China and Moscow/Russia.
Kazakhstan holds about 4 billion tons of proven recoverable oil reserves and 3 trillion cubic meters of natural gas. Industry analysts believe that the planned expansion of oil production, coupled with the development of new fields, will lift Kazakhstan into the ranks of the world's top 10 oil producing nations by 2015. The city of Almaty also has a lot of unique architectural sites. Among those are the bath-house Arasan and the Cathedral in the Park of 28 Panfilov Soldiers.
