Inaugural Event to be held at 10th Anniversary Advisory Forum
The OpenTravel Alliance, the travel industry's leading specification development organization, today unveiled OpenTravel University. OpenTravel University is an ambitious initiative that will provide to any distribution professional in the travel industry a comprehensive education about OpenTravel's processes and schema, about the role of standards in the travel industry and about how participants in OpenTravel can reap benefits for themselves and their companies.
'OpenTravel has long held orientation sessions and webinars covering OpenTravel's process and schema,' said Valyn Perini, executive director of OpenTravel, 'but in today's economic environment, distribution professionals need every tool possible to prove their value to their companies, and companies need to be sure their employees are educated. This initiative combines specially-developed content delivered by an industry professional to support the business and technical needs of those individuals who make their living in the travel distribution segment.'
