TORONTO, March 25 /CNW/ - Delta Hotels announced today that it has
officially flagged the Delta Red Deer Hotel and Conference Centre in Red Deer,
Alberta, formerly the Capri Hotel, Trade & Exhibition Centre. Delta assumed
management of the 219-room hotel on January 8th of this year.
We are delighted to welcome such an outstanding meeting facility hotel
to the Delta family. Not only does this property strengthen our position in
Alberta, but it also enhances our overall meeting product, said John
Johnston, President of Delta Hotels. The hotel's central location between
Edmonton and Calgary ensures that Delta now offers top rate facilities in all
key markets in the province.
The Delta Red Deer Hotel and Conference Centre is both the largest full-
service hotel in Red Deer and one of the largest meeting facilities in the
province of Alberta featuring complete convention, meeting and trade show
facilities. With 55,000 square feet of meeting space, this property can
accommodate up to 3,800 delegates, 33,000 square feet of display space and
includes 12,000 sq. ft of column free ballroom, 19 meeting rooms and 1,400
parking spaces.
Although already well established since 1957, we recognize that the
brand strength of Delta Hotels will play a vital role for continued growth and
success of the hotel in the future, said Johnston.
Featuring a wide range of rooms including two-storey suites, this hotel
also offers a restaurant, coffee bar-deli, lounge, two nightclubs, heated
outdoor pool, complete health club facilities, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and
numerous specialty shops in the shopping concourse.
A number of recreational opportunities are available within walking
distance of the hotel including the Waskasoo Park System and its many athletic
trails, Red Deer College and the Westerner Exhibition Grounds. Red Deer's
beautiful parks and natural green spaces are well-known throughout Alberta and
include some of Canada's top rated golf courses.
In the province of Alberta, Delta's portfolio currently consists of five
