About Pousada Convento da Graça
The Pousada Convento da Graça is located in Southern Portugal, in the historical centre of Tavira, a typical city in the Algarve with an inheritance of ancient civilizations. It was a Phoenician colony, populated by Romans and also an important city during the Arab occupation.
This building was the Santo Agostinho Hermits Convent founded by D. Sebastião around 1569. Recently transformed into a hotel, it was refurbished in a way that benefits from its heritage and ancient architecture.
The façade onto the main square and the noble Baroque inspired staircase, the Renaissance cloister from the 16th and 17th century, as well as the Arab archaeological remains discovered during the refurbishment all standout.
