Beachfront Ice Skating Event Returns for Second Year
Once again the warm sands of Redondo Beach, California will become a winter wonderland when Seaside Ice launches on November 10, 2009.
This amusing attraction brings outdoor ice skating, live music, movies, hot chocolate and all around family entertainment to the popular beachfront community. Seaside Ice debuted to rave success last year, and two-year silver sponsor Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach Hotel is doing its part to make this year bigger and better.
For a limited time, the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach and Marina Hotel will offer the "Seaside Ice Skating Package". This package includes up to four tickets to Seaside Ice as well as pizza and beverages delivered to the guest room for a post-skate party. As a sponsor of the event, the hotel is excited to encourage visitors experience this unusual holiday attraction.
Seaside Ice was created in 2008 by film producer Tom Kearney and figure skating World Champion Scott Williams to offer West coast visitors two quite opposite attractions: ice skating and the beach. A 60x120 ft. ice rink has been built at Seaside Lagoon, a beachfront swimming attraction typically closed during the winter off-season.
Along with public ice skating and reserved parties, Seaside Ice also features musical performances, live DJs, movie screenings, theme skates and colorful holiday décor. Local restaurants and vendors get in on the action as well, selling concessions to skaters in need of a breather.
