Monitoring web performance with dashboard tools
A recent issue of the online newsletter, The Wanderlust Report, offered a summary of the components and capabilities of today's Website Marketing Dashboard tools. These powerful applications allow destination, resort and attraction marketers to dig deeper into web visitor behavior and can vastly improve marketing ROI.
Keyword Ranking Tracker
'You spend a lot of time contemplating keywords,' said Wanderlust President and Chief Strategist, Mark Shipley. 'You create content for your site, carefully optimizing each page in the hopes that the search engines give it a high rank, with any luck on the first page. How well are you doing? The keyword ranking tracker can tell you.' By entering the keywords you are competing for, you can begin tracking them immediately, with no limit to the number of keywords you can track. Results are displayed with your highest ranking keywords, recent rankings and a notification column to show any upward or downward movement in the ranking.
New Leads Tracker
'Who has recently filled out conversion forms on your site? Are they a consumer gathering info for planning a trip or are they a group travel planner? With a new leads tracker on your Internet Marketing Dashboard, you'll know,' said Shipley. Every time someone fills out a properly coded conversion form, the new leads tracker goes to work. On the summary report, you see the most recent conversions in reverse chronological order, the form each visitor used to convert and the date.
Session Drill-Down Tracker
'This is extremely helpful in determining what kind of information they are looking for, and how hot the lead may be. It's also great for smoking out snooping competitors,' Shipley comments. By clicking on visitors' email addresses, you can drill down and see more information including their IP address, specific conversion forms, the pages they visited and the path they took.
