GuestLogix, Inc. (TSX VENTURE:GXI), the leading provider of onboard store technology to the airline industry, today announced a multi-year agreement with Republic Airways (NASDAQ:RJET) to deploy its retail transaction platform and OnTouch™, its branded onboard store design, to sell destination-based travel relevant products and services to passengers aboard Frontier Airlines and Midwest Airlines, both subsidiaries of Republic Airways.
Once in operation, the GuestLogix solution will support Frontier and Midwest's use of credit cards on all flights using point-of-sale handhelds and transaction platforms to make it convenient for passengers to purchase items onboard using a single cashless processor. The implementation will also provide backend inventory controls to effectively manage the movement of physical products onboard. The airlines will maintain existing onboard retail operations with snack, meal and beverage sales and then quickly expand their retail program to include GuestLogix' OnTouch™ ready access to ground connections, entertainment and event offers, and much more.
"GuestLogix makes it very easy to expand the sale of items onboard with its proven retail technology," said Wayne Heller, Executive Vice President and COO for Republic Airways. "With OnTouch, our customers will enjoy the added benefit of products uniquely tailored by destination while the company will realize improved operational efficiencies resulting from a consolidated platform that provides the shortest path to new revenue creation."
Frontier and Midwest currently offer more than 500 flights per day to more than 60 cities in the U.S., Mexico and Costa Rica. More than 35,000 passengers travel with Frontier and Midwest every day.
"We are pleased to work with Republic in giving consumers aboard Frontier and Midwest flights a seamless way to purchase the onboard products and services that add value to their trip," said Tom Douramakos, President and CEO, GuestLogix. "We look forward to helping to maximize the airlines' use of our onboard store technology and OnTouch merchandising to launch products and services that are valued the most by their customers to drive ancillary revenue and new net margins."
