Kristy Adams Appointed President & COO Of Howard Johnson Canada |

TORONTO, ON. – December 5, 2002 – AFM Hospitality Corporation, Canada’s largest multi-brand lodging franchisor, today announced at the Howard Johnson International Conference, the appointment of Kristy Adams as President and Chief Operating Officer of Howard Johnson Franchise Canada Inc. The appointment coincides with the most recent signing of the 50th Howard Johnson hotel in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Glen A. Blake, President, AFM Franchise Division, stated, “We have doubled the number of Howard Johnson hotels to 50 locations across Canada within a short span of two years. This expansion keeps us on track to realizing our target 150 properties by 2005. Kristy’s new role is timely and crucial to constantly maintain the high quality of franchise services while integrating the new franchisees on a seamless basis. Her 12 years of strong leadership and management skills in the hospitality industry makes her the right person for the task.”
Kristy Adams started her career as Sales Manager for the Howard Johnson Hotel in Ottawa immediately after graduating with a B. Comm., Hotel & Food Admin. from the University of Guelph, Ontario. In 1992, she became General Manager of the new 130 room Howard Johnson, Markham, Ontario. Kristy was promoted to Director of Franchise Services for Accommodex Franchise Management Inc. in 1994 (to become AFM in the same year). From 1995 to present, she has fulfilled key roles for AFM including: management for the 380 room Howard Johnson Triumph Hotel in Toronto; Regional Director of Operations for the management arm of AFM, Northwest Lodging International and; most recently, Vice President, Human Resources & Administration for AFM.
