Microtel Inn & Suites Opens Ponchatoula, LA |

ATLANTA (December 6, 2002) - DAYCO Lodging LLC has opened Louisiana's most recent Microtel Inn & Suites property at 727 W. Pine Street in Ponchatoula. Microtel Inns & Suites is the all newly-constructed, budget hotel chain with more than 250 locations worldwide. The Ponchatoula/Hammond property hotel is the closest Microtel to New Orleans.
We are excited to continue Microtel's expansion throughout Louisiana. The brand provides value and quality, and is the traveler's alternative to higher priced, full-service properties, said Jon Leven, senior vice president of marketing for Microtel. Atlanta-based U.S. Franchise Systems Inc. is the parent company of the franchisor of the Microtel hotel chain.
The two-story, 52-room Microtel hotel will feature single, double and suite accommodations, all with chiropractic-approved queen beds. Amenities will include complimentary daily breakfast, jacuzzi suites, a meeting room, exercise room, swimming pool and guest rooms with expanded cable television with CNN, HBO, ESPN. A 24-hour Waffle House restaurant is located adjacent to the property. The hotel is conveniently located near the Ponchatoula Antique City, North Oaks Medical Center and Southeastern Louisiana University.
