ATLANTA (Dec. 6, 2002) - M.C. Suites, Inc. has broken ground on Florida's most recent Microtel Inn & Suites property at 2612 West County 48 in Bushnell. Local government officials, Sumter County Chamber of Commerce officials and business leaders are expected to join David Moffitt and Chris Lackay of M.C. Suites, Inc., in a ceremonial turning of the ground for the area's newest Microtel hotel on December 10.
Microtel properties continue to focus on delivering value and quality, along with the basics so the value-conscious guest doesn't have to pay for the things he or she doesn't use, says Jon Leven, senior vice president of marketing for Microtel. The brand appeals to all types of travelers and is one of the fastest growing in the lodging industry. Atlanta-based U.S. Franchise Systems Inc. is the parent company of the franchisor of the Microtel hotel chain.
The three-story, 69-room Microtel hotel will feature single, double and suite accommodations, all with chiropractic-approved queen beds. Amenities will include complimentary daily breakfast, whirlpool suites, a swimming pool, and guest rooms with expanded cable television with CNN, HBO, and ESPN. The hotel will be conveniently located at exit 314 of I-75 between Tampa, Orlando and Ocala. Restaurants in the area include Sonny's Bar-B-Q, McDonalds and Waffle House.
The Microtel product is right for the needs of today's traveling public, says David Moffitt. Microtel provides value and quality, and is the business and leisure traveler's alternative to higher priced, full-service properties.
The hotel will be managed by Hospitality Plus, LLC; owners and operators of the Microtel Inn & Suites in Leesburg, FL. There are currently nine Microtel hotels open throughout the state in Lady Lake, Lake City, Leesburg, Marianna, Orlando, Palm Coast, Pensacola, Tallahassee and Hillsborough/Tampa Stadium, Florida.
Microtel Inns & Suites are all newly-constructed, interior corridor, budget/economy hotels and one of the fastest growing hotel brands in the U.S. Microtel was ranked the highest in guest satisfaction among the economy/budget hotel chains in the J.D. Power and Associates' 2002 North American Hotel Guest Satisfaction Studysm .
