The JW Marriott® Indianapolis - the largest JW Marriott in the world - has reached two major milestones. Bookings have surpassed 275,000 room nights, for a total of close to 400,000 room nights booked in the entire Marriott Place Indianapolis complex, and the glass facade of the building is now complete.
The striking blue glass facade is comprised of 7,300 blue-colored glass panels, forming a curtain wall around the tower. ASL Limited, located in Whitestown, Indiana, provided the panels. Each is four feet by ten feet and weighs approximately 800 pounds. If laid end-to-end, the glass panels that make up the facade of the new JW Marriott Indianapolis would stretch nearly 14 miles.
"We are moving ahead on schedule with the construction of the JW Marriott Indianapolis, " said Cory Chambers, director and sales and marketing for Marriott Place Indianapolis. "Not only did the first three hotels in the Marriott Place development open ahead of schedule, but we are on track to open the JW Marriott in February 2011." Chambers adds that in addition to reaching a milestone in room nights booked, the JW Marriott Indianapolis Downtown has also secured several high profile meetings and events, including the National Council for the Teachers of Mathematics, the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) and the 2012 Super Bowl.
"We're finding that the uniqueness of Marriott Place Indianapolis is appealing to meeting and event planners," said Chambers. "With four Marriott properties on the site, at all different price points, and a variety of flexible meeting spaces, we can meet the needs of virtually any size group. Add that to the fact that we are steps away from all that downtown Indianapolis has to offer, and we have a winning proposition."
The 34-story glass tower stands at 375 feet tall with 1,005 breathtaking rooms. Room features include signature Revive® bedding, LG® plasma screen televisions and a plug-in panel designed to reduce clutter and streamline multi-tasking possibilities. Hotel amenities include pool and exercise facilities, Italian dining with a unique wine cellar, High Velocity sports bar and a full-service Starbucks cafe. The JW Marriott Indianapolis Downtown also features the largest hotel ballroom in the Midwest.
