  • Pineapple Hospitality Pineapple Hospitality grows its line of earth-friendly dispenser amenities, adding new products from Save Your World, EO Amenities and Pharmacopia.

A recent survey finds that hotel guests aren’t just bringing home souvenirs with them when their trip is over. According to Travelocity, 86 percent of travelers admit to taking the leftover hotel amenities such as soaps, shampoos and even shower caps at the end of their stay.

While this kind of theft isn’t anything hotels worry about – leftover toiletries are usually just thrown away anyway – it does illustrate the kind of long-lasting impact a quality amenities program can have on your guests.

“A well designed amenity program is a reflection of the property and image they are trying to portray,” says John Hunter, President of Hunter Amenities. “The amenities should be a statement as to what the guests are expecting from their stay at the property as far as quality and feel is concerned. The amenity program is an extension of the whole property and is as important to the guest as items like bed linens and food selection.”

With an increased focus on guest amenities, Pineapple Hospitality – the premier distributor of "Green" Hotel Products and Marketing Programs for the Hospitality Industry – has bolstered its lineup of earth friendly amenities. New amenity products are now available from Save Your World, EO Amenities and Pharmacopia in both traditional amenity sizes, as well as cost-saving amenities for dispensers.

“People care a great deal about the personal hygiene products they use, and that doesn’t change when they are on the road,” says Ray Burger, President of Pineapple Hospitality.  “With Save Your World, EO Amenities and Pharmacopia, your hotel guests will find all-natural luxury products that are good for the body and good for the earth.”

As Hunter explains, using “green” ingredients and all-natural formulas is just the way to go. In today’s environment there is little cost impact to be green.

In fact, using gallon-sized amenities for dispensers can save up to 70 percent compared to traditional amenity costs, and reduces the waste from packaging and throwing away the leftover amenities.

“The only downside is that with dispensed amenities, your guests can’t take the leftovers home with them anymore,” jokes Burger. “Though we do provide retail options for those guests who enjoy the products so much that they want to purchase them for use at home.”

    Save Your World
Now available through Pineapple Hospitality, Save Your World is a new comprehensive line of “Earth and Skin Friendly” amenity products to support eco-friendly hotels, spas, lodges, and inns. Made with all-natural-and-organic-ingredients, Save Your World is the first personal care product line to be infused with nutrient-rich organic yerba maté and organic aloe vera and is Cruelty-free, Paraben-free, Dioxane-free and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate-free.

Save Your World products come in environmentally friendly packaging, such as PET bottles with aluminum caps that are recyclable and paper bottles that reduce after-use waste by 92 percent. Soap is wrapped in 100 percent post-consumer waste paper and printed with vegetable-based or water-soluble inks.

“Consumers are increasingly making their lodging decisions based on a property’s brand reputation as it pertains to environmental sustainability,” says Scott Cecil, President of Save Your World. “Every guest who stays in a hotel room for just one night and uses these products will be sharing in this eco-friendly experience, doing something good for their skin while also doing something good for the overall environment.”

The Save Your World line includes the Save Your Skin™, Save Your Body® and Save Your Hair® all-natural skin and body care products that nourish and replenish skin. Whether you choose Oasis Fruit, Rainforest or Pure Mist scents — your guests will experience the ambiance of the rainforest with every stay and you’ll be providing a green alternative to your business.

Product packaging is available in 1-oz. PET bottles, .5-oz paper bottles and gallon-size dispenser amenities.

Proceeds from sales of Save Your World directly support conservation projects worldwide by saving pristine habitats such as rainforest and marine sanctuary protected areas.

    EO Amenities
Since 1995, EO products have shown consumers that luxury and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusively. Made from pure and organic ingredients at EO's headquarters in Marin County, Calif., EO products smell and work great, and leave guests feeling pampered and refreshed both physically and psychologically.

The line available from Pineapple Hospitality includes gallon-sized amenities for dispensers:

    • French Lavender shampoo
    • Sweet Orange shampoo
    • French Lavender conditioner
    • Rose Geranium & Sweet Orange conditioner
    • French Lavender shower gel
    • Grapefruit & Mint shower gel
    • French Lavender hand soap
    • French Lavender body lotion
    • Grapefruit & Mint body lotion
“Today’s hotel guests tend to be highly educated and knowledgeable about what goes into and on their bodies. They want products that are not only green but made responsibly. They want to be pampered and to be offered premium personal care that is in keeping with their choice of spend at a property,” says Emma Mann, Director of Marketing, EO Products. “EO's line certified organic, sustainably produced personal care products not only make you feel good about the environment, they make you feel good, period.”

EO products provide hotels with a triple-bottom line: They are good for guest satisfaction, good for the environment, and very cost effective when used with customized AVIVA or WAVE dispensers.

“Natural and organic products are the latest trends becoming more familiar in our world. Offering quality products allows for better guest retention and their continued satisfaction. It also provides an opportunity to generate new business from guests who make environmental stewardship an important part of their travel and referral decisions,” says Mann. “We have found that many of our most loyal customers are those who pleasantly ‘stumbled onto EO,’ at a green hotel or property and chosen to integrate ‘natural personal care’ into their lifestyle.”
