LAS VEGAS, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:PNK) today announced the appointment of Juris Basens as Vice President and General Manager and Barry Regula as Assistant General Manager of Boomtown Casino Hotel in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Mr. Basens, age 48, replaces Dale Darrough, who had been General Manager of Boomtown Bossier City since December 2001.
Bringing over 24 years' experience in the gaming industry, Mr. Basens rejoins the property's management team after two years as General Manager of Hollywood Casino in Shreveport, LA. From June 1997 to August 1999, Mr. Basens was the General Manager of Casino Magic-Bossier City, the precursor to Boomtown Bossier City, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations, as well as the development of the property's 188-room hotel. Prior to his experience at Hollywood Casino and Casino Magic-Bossier City, Mr. Basens served as Chief Operating Officer of Casino Magic Corporation, where he was responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Company's three casino properties. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Casino America, now known as Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Resorts International in Atlantic City, NJ and Carnival's Crystal Palace in Nassau, Bahamas. Mr. Basens and his family have lived in the Shreveport/Bossier City area since 1996.
Mr. Regula, 42, has been with Pinnacle Entertainment since 1996, most recently as the Director of Slots and VIP Services at the Company's Casino Magic property in Biloxi, Mississippi.
We are pleased to welcome Juris back to our Bossier City team after our exciting re-branding to Boomtown Bossier City, said Daniel R. Lee, Chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. Juris's regional experience and history at the property will serve us well as we work to establish the re-branded property as a service and quality leader in the Shreveport/Bossier City market. Barry, meanwhile, brings his enthusiasm and experience from our successful Biloxi property. He is an excellent example of someone whose skills and knowledge have grown with our organization and we think he will be a great addition to the Bossier management team.
Boomtown Bossier City was acquired by Pinnacle Entertainment as part of its acquisition of Casino Magic, Inc. in 1998. From October 1996 until July 2002, the facility operated as Casino Magic-Bossier City. The 23-acre site features a docked riverboat casino, with 30,000 square feet of gaming space on three levels, and a 188-room hotel. Boomtown's other amenities include four restaurants in a 55,000 square foot entertainment pavilion and free valet parking.
