Up to 2,500 Hotels Participating in Utell's Signature Program;
Rates as Low as $50 per Night in Popular Business and Leisure Destinations
LONDON (December 16, 2002) - Utell, the world's largest hotel representation company(1), announced the rollout of a new year-long GREATRATE promotion. The revamped rate program gives travel agents and corporate travel departments access to discounted rates at up to 2,500 Utell hotels around the world, a ten-fold increase in the number of properties that participated in prior GREATRATE programs. Utell is a subsidiary of Pegasus Solutions, Inc., (Nasdaq: PEGS), a leading worldwide provider of hotel reservations-related services and technology.
Rate discounts begin at 15 percent throughout 2003, with two seasonal periods (December 2002 through February 2003, and July through August
2003) featuring minimum discounts of 25 percent. As an added value, all guests booked via GREATRATE receive a complimentary breakfast after each night of their stay.
Utell bookings are fully commissionable to accredited travel agents. Travel agents can book GREATRATE rates through any Utell voice reservations office, via all global distribution systems and on www.utell.com.
Many popular business and leisure destinations, such as Barcelona, Hong Kong, London, New York, Miami Beach and Tokyo, are included in the new GREATRATE program. Rates are available at participating properties from December 16, 2002, through December 31, 2003, and are valid seven days a week. All bookings require a minimum two-night stay, with no maximum stay restrictions.
In the past, Utell promoted three seasonal GREATRATE programs per year, with discounts usually lasting no more than 10 weeks. According to Graham Richards, Utell's vice president of global sales, The success of prior GREATRATE programs motivated us to vastly increase the size and scope of the 2003 promotion, making it significantly more attractive to agencies and potentially driving increased business at our member properties. We'll be actively promoting participating GREATRATE hotels through advertising, trade shows, and marketing campaigns in travel industry trade publications, as well as through our sales calls to agencies.
