CHICAGO - January 6, 2003 - Hyatt Hotels and Hawthorn Suites announced today that, effective immediately, Gold Passport members can earn Gold Passport points at all Hawthorn Suites properties. Hawthorn Suites is the first hotel partner in Gold Passport, Hyatt's 15-year-old award-winning frequent guest program.
"Hawthorn guests will find that the Hyatt Gold Passport frequent guest program is a tremendous addition to an already value-packed lodging experience," says Jon Leven, Senior Vice President of Marketing, U.S. Franchise Systems, Inc. "Our relationship with Hyatt Gold Passport will enable our guests to earn and redeem points for more stays that fit their travel needs."
Gold Passport members can earn three points per dollar on eligible suite rates during Hawthorn stays. Points are redeemable at any Hyatt hotel or resort or Hawthorn Suite worldwide. Free nights can be redeemed for 4,000 points per night at Hawthorn Suites and starting at 5,000 points per night at Hyatt.
Additionally, in lieu of points, Gold Passport members have the option to earn 300 miles per Hawthorn stay on participating airlines. Hawthorn's airline partners include: American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United and US Airways.
"The addition of Hawthorn increases the value of the Gold Passport program for Hyatt guests, providing them with more locations to earn and redeem awards," said Amy Weyman, vice president, Gold Passport and marketing systems for Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Gold Passport is Hyatt's award-winning frequent guest program. Established by Hyatt in 1987, it includes all Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide. Currently, there are 207 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world. Hyatt Corporation manages, franchises or operates 123 hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
